Altana

Flat roof area with fencing. Unlike a balcony, it does not stand out for the bulk of the building. They appeared in the architecture of Venice in the XV-XVI centuries, and then in other countries with a hot climate. In Ukraine and Belarus - altanka (cf. belvedere, tower).
