Alcove

photo_title

Alcove is a recess, a niche in the wall. Alcoves were obtained in medieval houses because of the different thicknesses of the walls. The word takes its origin from the Arabic language, in which it meant any bedroom. Now the alcove is a niche in the room where the light penetrates from the main room.

It is very convenient to have an alcove in the bedroom if you do not like to wake up early in the morning or have to sleep during the day, for example, after working at night. Sunlight will not wake you up, even if the windows have simple curtains.

A related word is walketh, meaning an Arabic tent. And now some people like four-poster beds resembling a tent. Also, the tent resembles multi-tiered, stepped ceilings, which are also sometimes referred to as hipped ceilings.

Even in small-sized apartments with low ceilings, some of our compatriots manage to cram in a stepped ceiling just to build spots there. In individual houses, the projects presented in our catalog, in a protrusion along the walls, you can stretch ventilation boxes to create a healthy indoor climate even in winter.
